Turkey Earthquake Reason

As we know, the Structure of the earth’s surface is made up of the combining of different tectonic plates; these plates can slide in their position. as we talk about Turkey, this country is situated over the intersection of the plates that are constantly moving these plates can slide, bumping into each other. When the plates slide, they form a fault (fractures); earthquakes generate from the sudden friction of these plates.

Turkey is situated right over the intersection of the Anatolian, Arabian and African plates. Due to this, the possibility of friction in the tectonic plates is increased, making Turkey an earthquake-prone area. This earthquake was caused due to strike-slip fault.
