It is one of the few illustrious competitive exams for astronomy students. The International Olympiad in Astronomy and Astrophysics (IOAA) first phase is the National Science and Engineering Olympiad (NSEA) (IOAA). IAPT and HBCSE will decide on the NSEA results and make them available online. Students must go to the Homi Bhabha Center for Science Education’s official website or the Olympiad’s website to view the NSEA Result 2023. The NSEA state-by-state cut-off will appear alongside the results. The IAPT website will have a link that, when clicked, will take students to the results page. The maximum number of students in each topic who could go to Stage II got determined by the Association of Physics Teachers (IAPT), approx 300. But the selection of these candidates is not based on just talent. The number of participants who attended the NSEA from each center in each Union Territory and each state the previous year affects the proportion. However, a recent ruling by the Madras High Court stated that although students from the OCI category are allowed to participate in NSEA as the first stage of the International Astronomy Olympiad Program, they cannot go on to represent their nation in the International olympiad program. However, eligible candidates who are Indian citizens living abroad may take part in the test’s subsequent phases.

NSEA Cut Off 2023

Based on the NSEA Result 2023 of the top 10 applicants, the National Standard Examination in Astronomy cut-off scores are determined. The minimum admissible scores, or MAS, on the NSEA, are required for students to move on to the next stage of the Olympiad program. The MAS gets determined using 50% of the top ten students’ average NSEA scores.
