When the 50% reduction scheme started, the police department said that outstanding penalties from traffic offenders throughout the state totaled around 530 crore rupees. Of this amount, approximately 500 crore rupees was due from Bengaluru alone. The remaining 30 crores are from the state’s other districts.

Only then would they be eligible for the benefits of the program. After that, a list of pending penalties will appear on the website, and users can decide which fines they desire to pay online. A senior traffic police officer said, “On our website, anybody can check whether there are any ongoing fines against their car, and they can also make the payment. We will upgrade the Bengaluru Traffic Police website interface by Friday, and we will provide a link,” he added, requesting all car owners to check whether there are any charges against their vehicles and take advantage of the Karnataka Traffic Fine Discount scheme.
