You is one of the most terrifying, intriguing, and simply frightening programs on Netflix. The thriller series, which stars Penn Badgley, chronicles the exploits of a manipulative killer who seeks Love in all the wrong places. With each new season, the plot becomes even more bizarre than before. As it turns out, this trend will continue in the future. Here’s everything we know so far about the forthcoming You season 4, including rumors regarding its release date, cast, trailer, and official information.
You Season 4
Netflix has renewed you season 4 for a new one. Season 3 of the show was released only a few days before the renewal was announced. Sera Gamble, the program’s creator, had said that she expects the show to go for many more seasons beyond the current one.
“I don’t like to jinx things by being very explicit in one direction or the other,” she said. “I will add that we still have a lot of tales to share with you. I have no qualms about stating that we might very well follow Joe for many more seasons if things go well.”
She went on to say: “Having said that, the television environment is challenging right now. There are around 10 billion television programs, and since orders are shorter and competition is more significant, we never actually preserve anything for the following seasons. Our rule of thumb is that if we have a brilliant idea, we will share it with you as soon as we think of it.
Because we believe in the universe that Caroline [Kepnes, author of the original book series on which the programme is based] has created for us. Because we believe in these characters, we do not doubt that they will continue to get themselves into pretty fucked up situations.”
You Season 4 Release Date
Currently, it is unclear when You Season 4 will be released on Netflix, but I can make an educated prediction based on previous release dates. Because of the lockdown delays, Season 2 launched on December 26, 2019, and Season 3 would probably have premiered around the same time the following year if not for the lockdown delays.
Based on this, assuming the production team can turn things around swiftly, Season 4 might debut in the late 2023 or early 2023 timeframe. Following the conclusion of Season 3 on March 22, 2023, the program made it evident that it was not going to take things easy by announcing that Season 4 had officially begun shooting.
You Season 4 Theories
When it comes to You, the show is characterized by its jaw-dropping, incredible, and sometimes implausible twists and turns, so attempting to forecast what will happen in season 4 is a fool’s errand. In terms of how season 3 ended, the story was compelling: Joe staged his death (at the hands of his wife, Love Quinn, played by Victoria Pedretti); he murdered Love and abandoned his child, Henry, on the doorstep before fleeing to Paris in search of Marienne.
Badgley said the following in an interview with Collider: “The next season may be quite different. I’m not sure, but I feel it has something to do with Joe’s connection with himself. It isn’t a program about a killer; it’s a show. Taking the errors we make in relationships to their logical conclusion for a good tale, I believe, is what it is. Taking relationships as an example, we need to lay down our swords and cease being competitive with one another, but that’s a difficult thing to accomplish.”
The Plot of Season 4
The first three seasons of You have been based on novels by Caroline Kepnes – you were based on You, hidden bodies were found on Hidden Bodies, and you love me will be based on Hidden Bodies in April 2022 – and hidden bodies will be the basis for the fourth season.
It is unknown how much of Kepnes’ forthcoming fourth novel will be used for the next season of You or whether the book or the series will be released first.
As for this new season, it begins with Joe Goldberg in Europe, searching for Marienne Bellamy. The two will undoubtedly meet face to face again, but it seems that Joe will soon get entangled with a whole other group of wealthy and privileged folks.
There seems to be one person who does become very significant to Joe: Kate, the director of an art gallery. However, it appears that Kate is not an unsuspecting victim for Joe, and she may be able to piece out the truth about him shortly.
