With the UP assembly elections in 2023 looming in just a few weeks, the struggle for Uttar Pradesh has started. Ahead of the state assembly elections, it is expected that the BJP would reclaim power with a large majority.
According to opinion polls, the BJP is anticipated to win a comfortable majority in the UP election of 2023, with the Samajwadi Party gaining a considerable portion of the vote. Uttar Pradesh was divided into six main areas to conduct opinion surveys to assess who would win the most seats. Purvanchal, Awadh, Western UP, Central UP, Bundelkhand, and Ruhelkhand are the six areas.
UP Election Public Opinion 2023
Other pre-election polls have forecast an easy win for the BJP but at the expense of a significant seat share, which will be a straight gain for the Samajwadi Party.
While the BJP’s claim of overhauling the law and order situation and development projects in Kashi, Mathura, and Varanasi seems to have worked in its favor, the Lakhimpur Kheri violence, the second COVID-19 wave, and the farmers’ protest may strike significant damage in the party’s image.
All four opposition parties — the Congress, the Samajwadi Party, the Bahujan Samaj Party, and the Aam Aadmi Party – have stated that they would run alone in the next elections in February and March. Rather than attracting larger caste-based parties, the parties have concentrated on attracting smaller caste-based parties. On the other hand, experts believe that a fragmented opposition would only aid the BJP by dividing the vote against it.
The Samajwadi Party has allied with Om Prakash Rajbhar’s SBSP, but the BJP has joined with seven minor caste-based organizations. The BJP has discounted the SP’s smaller-party partnerships, claiming that its Apna Dal-Nishad Party alliance would have a much more significant influence in the polls.
UP Election Exit Polls 2023
The incumbent BJP enjoyed an advantage over the opposition Samajwadi Party in opinion surveys issued before the election dates were announced. The BJP, which won over 300 seats the last time around, is predicted to win just over 200 seats this time. Many seats are in a tight race that might go to either of these two parties in the end. Exit polls will be available after 6 p.m. on March 7, when the last round of the election in Uttar Pradesh is completed.

With just a few days to the election in Uttar Pradesh, Zee News partnered up with DesignBoxed on Friday to conduct the country’s largest Opinion Poll to gauge voter sentiment in poll-bound areas. Purvanchal, Awadh, Bundelkhand, Western UP, Central UP, and Rohilkhand are the six areas split by Zee News in this Final Opinion Poll. The Rohilkhand (formerly Rampur State) is a region in Uttar Pradesh’s northwestern corner, concentrated on Rampur, Bareilly, and Moradabad. The Rohilikhand area is divided into four districts with 25 seats. Budaun, Bisauli, Bilsi, Dataganj Shekhupur, and Sahaswan are the six constituencies in the Budaun district.
According to a Zee News Opinion Poll conducted on Friday, the BJP will win 241-263 seats, crossing the majority threshold. The BJP was predicted to win 245-267 seats in a previous vote held on January 19, 2023. Yogi Adityanath is also expected to be the most popular CM candidate in the state.

Purvanchal Region
According to the Opinion Poll 2023, the BJP is expected to get 39 percent of the vote in Purvanchal. On the other hand, the SP is expected to get 36% of the vote. The BSP is expected to receive 13% of the vote, and Congress will receive 6%. Furthermore, the BJP is expected to win 53-59 seats in Purvanchal, while the SP is expected to win 39-45 seats. Yogi Adityanath has been predicted as the most popular CM option in this area, with 48 percent of the vote. With 35% of the vote, SP head Akhilesh Yadav was the CM candidate.
Central UP Region
The BJP is expected to get 46 percent of the vote in this area, barely ahead of the SP, which will receive 32 percent. The BJP is expected to win 47-49 seats in terms of seat share, while the SP is expected to win 16-20. Meanwhile, Yogi Adityanath is the most popular CM candidate, with 47 percent of the vote.
Awadh Region
According to polls, the BJP will get 41% of the vote, while the SP will receive 32%. The BSP is expected to get 12% of the vote. The BJP is expected to win 76-82 seats, while the SP is expected to win 34-38 seats.
Rohilkhand Region
The BJP is expected to win 15-17 seats in Rohilkhand, while the SP may only secure 8-10 seats. Compared to the previous election on January 19, 2023, the BJP will get four fewer seats. Previously, the BJP was expected to win 19-21 seats.
Bundelkhand Region
According to the Opinion Poll, the BJP will get 49 percent of the vote in Bundelkhand. On the other hand, the SP is only expected to get 21% of the vote. According to the poll, the BJP is expected to win 17-19 seats in Bundelkhand, while the SP is expected to win just 0-1 seats. In contrast, the BJP saw its vote share drop by 10% from the last election on January 19.
Western UP Region
According to an Opinion Poll, Yogi Adityanath is the most popular Chief Minister in Western Uttar Pradesh. According to the poll, the SP would get 37 percent of the vote in Western Uttar Pradesh. The party leads the BJP in Western Uttar Pradesh in vote share. The BJP is expected to win 33-37 seats in this area. However, there was no variation between the current poll and prior poll predictions for Western UP in terms of vote share and seat share.

During the Congress, Samajwadi and BSP Rule in Uttar Pradesh, it used to take me 8 hours to reach by road from Delhi to Moradabad, because roads were not constructed and few Flyovers were built but only half and never completed.
