With the release of the video teaser, it won’t be long before the bike is revealed. Depending on the scale of the changes, the RTR 165 RP will likely cost around Rs 5,000,000 more than the high-end RTR 160 4V. For reference, the price of RTR 160 4V is between Rs 1.15 lakh1, 21 lakh (showroom, Delhi).

Features and Launch Date

TVS has published a short video with its new RP or Race Performance series on all of its social media platforms. The teaser video ends with the note “The Pinnacle of Performance – Coming Soon”.

This suggests that the company could soon launch its first RP-series motorcycle. TVS has already registered the Apache RTR 165 RP (Race Performance) in India and it looks like the bike will be launched in the country very soon.

The upcoming Apache RTR 165 RP is expected to be a more performance-oriented version of the Apache RTR 160 4V. The bike could share its mechanics and drivetrain with the Apache RTR 160 4V, but it could have some track-friendly bike parts and be tuned for better performance.

As a reference, the Apache RTR 160 4V has developed a 159.7 cc, air-cooled single-cylinder engine with fuel injection, 17.3 HP output, and 14.73 Nm maximum torque. The transmission could comprise the same 5-speed constant mesh unit.

The teaser video doesn’t reveal much except that the next bike will be “the pinnacle of performance”. Thus, the models of the RP series will particularly appeal to enthusiasts looking for more performance from their machine.

For this, TVS could use a rebored version of the 159.7cc oil-cooled single-cylinder engine that currently powers the Apache RTR 160 4V. It may also offer new kits, such as those offered with the Apache 310 earlier this year. allow owners to tailor their bikes to their needs.

In its current form, this injection engine develops 17.63 hp and 14.73 Nm of maximum torque, which in itself is a segment leader. Once drilled and readjusted, this thruster will emit a bit more power and torque.

In all likelihood, this engine will be mated to the same 5-speed transmission, however, some changes can be made to the gear ratios

Expected updates  in the new Model

TVS is also expected to make some styling revisions to the Apache RTR 165 RP to differentiate it from the RTR 160 4V and make it look sportier than its brother.

The ergonomics of the bike will also be modified to allow for more aggressive riding behavior. Hold by a lower clip-on handlebar with slightly attached footrests.  Not only the ergonomics but also the hardware settings of the bike would be adjusted.

A suspension setup consisting of telescopic forks at the front and a show-sourced mono-shock unit at the rear with preload adjustment is to be transferred to the Apache RTR 165 RP. The damping of the front and rear units should be stiffer to ensure better handling and stability at high speeds.

We also expect TVS to upgrade the bike with a bit more aggressive ergonomics, perhaps a preloaded telescopic fork like the one on the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V.

If TVS manages all of these changes, it will be by far the sportiest motorcycle in the world. 160cc bare segment you have a huge advantage over less powerful and less feature-rich files like the Yamaha FZS Fi, Hero XTreme 160R, Honda XBlade, and Bajaj Pulsar NS160.

The company has now updated its TVS Connect app with a new feature that makes navigation easier.

The brand announced that it has added what3words to its TVS Connect app, which can be shared and used to navigate to any place with three words.

We are very happy to see the new Apache 165 RP firsthand as the brand has removed the mark “RTR” from the name and introduced a new mark “RP”.

This leads us to believe that this bike could become the most exciting and fun bike in the segment. Stay tuned to know more about the TVS Apache RTR 165 RP Price in India, Launch Date, Features.
