Thor: The God of Thunder and Love The Marvel sequel is getting a lot of love and a lot of thunder. In Thor 4, Chris Hemsworth reprises his role as the Norse deity, but he’ll be sharing the hammer (and the power) with Natalie Portman this time. We’ve even seen pictures of how the two heroes would seem in Thor – Love and Thunder.
Thor – Love and Thunder
Thor: Ragnarok is set to demonstrate how far the Norse God has progressed in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Thor returned to our good books in Taiki Waititi’s Thor: Ragnarok, after two underwhelming solo films (the less said about The Dark World, the better).
Thor’s third feature was a breath of new air for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, so it’s no surprise that the New Zealand native has been to helm the God of Thunder’s next solo adventure. At least, that’s how it seems on the surface. The second of Marvel’s Phase 4 films, set for 2023, will feature a more extensive ensemble cast than previous Thor films. Still, it will center on the titular character and reunion with Natalie Portman’s Jane Foster, who receives her God-like superpowers in the Marvel Phase 4 project.
“What’s new about Thor: Love and Thunder?” you may wonder. But that’s beside the point. Thor, Jane Foster, and Valkyrie will all be wearing new outfits in Thor 4, and the first teaser for the film might be out shortly. There’s also the possibility of another purported superhero appearance, so there’s a lot to catch up on.
Thor – Love and Thunder Release Date
Due to the postponement of Black Widow, all Phase 4 films were pushed back one release date, meaning the fourth Thor film was made back to February 18, 2023. Thor: Love and Thunder were supposed to be on November 5, 2022, when the Phase 4 plans were initially disclosed. However, we received some excellent news, as the release date was pushed back a week to February 11, 2023.
Then it was pushed back to May 6, 2023, and then again to July 8, 2023, taking the place of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (the Black Panther sequel has also moved along with a host more Phase 4 movies). The reason for the Phase 4 release date change has yet to be revealed, and all we can do now is hope that this is the last date change for these films.
Thor – Love and Thunder Cast
Chris Hemsworth reprises his role as Thor, and several of his New Asgardian allies will appear with Odinson in the film. Tessa Thompson returns as Valkyrie, while Taika Waititi reprises his role as want tobe revolutionary Korg in a performance capture outfit. Thor: Love and Thunder will also include the Guardians of the Galaxy, which isn’t entirely surprising.

Thor was in the company of Marvel’s most adored band of jerks towards the conclusion of Avengers: Endgame. So, in the fourth Thor movie, Chris Pratt (Star-Lord), Dave Bautista (Drax the Destroyer), Karen Gillan (Nebula), Pom Klementieff (Mantis), Vin Diesel (Groot), and Sean Gunn (Kraglin) are all back in action. There’s no news on whether Bradley Cooper’s Rocket will appear, but we expect him to.
Thor – Love and Thunder Plot
With the debut of Mighty Thor in the MCU, Waititi has acknowledged that he drew inspiration for the film from Jason Aaron and Russell Dauterman’s Marvel Comics book The Mighty Thor.
“That tale is wonderful,” he said, “it’s full of passion, love, and thunder, and it presents a female Thor for the first time.” According to Portman, Jane’s cancer plotline from the comics will be in the film. “She’s undergoing cancer treatment while still being a superhero,” she stated. Waititi has only hinted at a romance, most likely a rekindling of Thor and Jane’s relationship. The film will also dive into the history of Korg, a fan favorite.
Aside from that, Thompson indicated that Valkyrie would be rebuilding Asgard and “re-investing in her people,” while Hemsworth seems clueless about what Thor has been doing since joining the Guardians: “He could be on the sofa at this time.”
Thor – Love and Thunder Villain
Tessa Thompson initially disclosed to ET that Christian Bale isn’t only on board: he’ll play Gorr the God Butcher, the villain in Thor: Love and Thunder. Gorr was initially featured in the 2012 comic book Thor: God of Thunder, and he’s a “god butcher” who doesn’t kill gods for a living but rather for vengeance. Gorr resents gods like Thor since none of them came to his aid after his family perished.
Unlike Bale’s prior comic book movie portrayal (Batman). His identity, like Thor’s, is linked to a mighty weapon. The All-Black the Necrosword, commonly known as All-Black, is that. Gorr can use this sword to produce god-killing tentacles and fly at high speeds and summon Berserkers from the darkness.
Thor – Love and Thunder Trailer
According to one Marvel movie leaker, this may alter shortly. According to Brandon Matthews, Thor: Love and Thunder’s first teaser was virtually in mid-January. Given the passage of time, it’s feasible that a trailer for the film may be released shortly. Is it possible to see it during this year’s Super Bowl? With Marvel releasing new TV advertisements for Moon Knight and Doctor Strange 2, it’s unlikely. Still, we shouldn’t have to wait long to see any video.
