The Adam Project Plot
Adam, a fighter pilot in the year 2050, is being pursued by a fleet of futuristic space ships. After being injured by someone, he hurriedly creates a wormhole and travels back in time to the year 2023 to avoid capture. While we are in this period, a younger Adam (Walker Scobell) is still coming to terms with his father’s death, Louis Reed (Mark Ruffalo), in an accident one year earlier. He continues to be a jerk in his relationship with his mother, Ellie Reed (Jennifer Garner).
He discovers the injured Adam, and he realises that he is the same as him, although an older version of him, after some initial fear. Old Adam explains that he had to flee his timeline to defend himself from himself in the present. His wife, Laura (Zoe Saldana), was last spotted returning to 2018 and has not been seen or heard since. After initially planning to return in time for 2018, he landed in 2023 by mistake. He shows young Adam his spacecraft, which Old Adam cannot activate with DNA matching owing to his injuries, but which young Adam can do with ease.
Old Adam informs him that he must fly to 2018 to avoid being discovered by their father’s former business partner, Maya Sorian (Catherine Keener). He discloses that in his reality, Sorian has complete command over time. She and Louis were the ones who came up with the idea of time travel, and following his death, she became the sole proprietor of the technology.
Sorian and her minions launch an assault on them, but Laura comes just in time and saves the day. During their pursuit, they devise a strategy. Laura will remain behind to distract Sorian, while the two Adams will be able to go back in time to 2018 and undo whatever occurred. Laura is discovered and killed by Sorian. She is on the Adams’ tail, but they can go back in time and escape her clutches.
