NEET PG Exam Postponed

After filing a petition in the Supreme Court, the National Eligibility and Entrance Test (NEET) for Postgraduate Studies in 2023 received much attention. As a result of taking notice of the complaint, the Supreme Court consented to schedule an urgent hearing. According to the most recent information, the case of Postpone NEET PG 2023 would most likely be heard on May 13, 2023.

The Supreme Court has said that it would list the case and have a hearing on it as soon as possible in the NEET PG 2023 issue. According to Live Law, a Supreme Court bench headed by Justice D.Y. Chandrachud has agreed to schedule an urgent hearing in the case. The date for the hearing is simply an expectation, and it may be amended at a later date. The petition filed in the Supreme Court seeks to postpone the NEET PG 2023 examination due to various difficulties, the most significant of which is the NEET PG 2022 counseling. The NEET PG 2023 Test is scheduled to take place on May 21, 2023, and applicants who have submitted a petition request that the exam is postponed by 8 to 10 weeks.

The NEET PG 2023 medical examination has not been postponed and will take place on May 21, as scheduled by the university. In addition, the National Board of Examinations (NBE) published a clarification addressing a bogus announcement claiming that the test had been postponed, which was later removed from the internet.

“It has come to the attention of NBEMS that certain unscrupulous individuals are disseminating incorrect and fake material using spoofed alerts in the name of NBEMS,” the NBE said.

During a meeting on April 30 presided over by Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) decided that the NEET PG 2023 examinations would not be postponed.

“The petitioners are physicians doing their required internship at various hospitals throughout the nation,” according to the suit filed by attorneys Ashutosh Dubey and Abhishek Chauhan. NEET-PG examination 2023 will be held on May 21, and the petitioners aspire to take part in this examination to determine their career options based on their overall rank, their choice, and the Post-Graduation Courses available to them.”

Petitioner sought an injunction against an announcement of the NEET PG-2022 examination scheduled for May 21 by the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences and a deferral of the test date. The petition was denied.

It stated that some of the petitioners and aspirants have appeared in NEET-PG 2022 and are currently participating in the ongoing counseling process, which probably won’t be completed by May 9, 2023, given the roller-coaster ride has been on since July 2022.

The complaint, submitted by 15 physicians with MBBS degrees, says, “the petitioners and thousands of other aspirants are suffering because of the system for no reason at all.”.

The petition raises substantial and critical legal issues, including why aspirants/candidates for NEET-PG 2023 should be subjected to undue hardship and denied an opportunity to participate in the NEET-PG examination 2023 while counseling for the previous academic year’s exam is still taking place and is supposed to be completed by May 9.

  1. The trauma & future of nearly 2 lakhs appearing for NEET PG should be given value & consideration. Their career is at stake. This unjust demand for postponement is just for accommodating 2016 batch ignoring 2 lakhs aspirants which is too unreasonable.

    • No sir.. it’s not just those students who are ineligible.. it’s also about the midrankers who lost their seat in the canceled mopup session and also those midrankers who didn’t get the seat and also for those students who are still attending councelling.. and these students are also present in those 2 lakh students… Please understand that it is a life changing exam to us medicos and preparing 19 hard subjects in 7 days is an impossible task as it is

    • 95% of them want it to be postponed that’s the whole point, i mean these things are for the student’s betterment if they’re not getting benefitted then what even is the point? Most of the students are still praying for postponement yet some non medicos took the decision on behalf of 2 lakh doctors, kinda funny
