Khargone Violence
The federal investigation authorities are attempting to determine if the recent violence in Jahangirpuri, Delhi, has any connection to the recent violent episodes in Karauli, Rajasthan, and Khargone, Madhya Pradesh, which occurred during the Ram Navami processions, respectively.
The repercussions of violence in Madhya Pradesh’s Khargone, where stones were thrown during conflicts on Ram Navami, are still being felt 10 days after the occurrence, with the state reporting the first fatality resulting from the violence on the occasion of the festival. Police have received 44 formal complaints in the wake of the fights, and 158 people have been arrested for various offenses.
There has been an increase in police patrols in Khargone, and a curfew has been imposed even after dawn to keep an eye out for any aftershocks. On the other hand, the curfew is eased from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. every day to enable individuals to leave their homes and purchase essential goods. Former Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan of Madhya Pradesh has promised that the state government would take drastic action against those responsible and that the victims would get compensation from the state government.
Khargone Violence Reason
Others who were taking part in the second Ram Navami procession said they were agitated by those leaving the mosque after performing namaz, which took place just before the procession. “There were many people in the march,” a witness recalled. We had made elaborate preparations for Ram Navami this year, but when we arrived at the Talab Chowk, stones were hurled at us, and forced to defend ourselves.”
“Earlier, we had informed the authorities and had written to the Prime Minister’s Office that the Talab Chowki, which lies near the Jama Masjid, is a sensitive zone,” he said. ” Over here, there are a lot of racial tensions. To ensure community cohesion, such processions or festivities should not be permitted because of the pelting of stones on the masjid.”
Khargone Violence Deaths
When violence erupted during a Ram Navami parade in the Madhya Pradesh town of Khargone on April 10 evening, Ibris Khan, 28 years old, went missing.
From Saturday, April 16, till Sunday, April 17, Ibris’s family was out on the streets exploring every nook and cranny, including mortuaries. He was found dead in the MY Hospital mortuary in Indore, 120 kilometers distant, much to their surprise.
Islampura in Khargone was home to Ibris Khan, the son of Saddam Khan. The local municipal corporation employed him as a sweeper, for which he received a daily pay. In addition to his wife and eight-month-old son, Ibris is survived by two other children.
The post-mortem report shows that Ibris died due to severe head injuries; nevertheless, Ibris’s brother, Iqhlak Khan, has claimed that the police and the locals of Khargone were complicit in his brother’s death. There was no involvement by the police, according to them. During the skirmishes, Iqhlak claims that he last saw his dead brother, who was being held in police custody, on April 10.
Khargone Violence Government Action
Shivraj Singh Chouhan wants a robust intelligence system in the state and has directed Adarsh Katiyar, the assistant director-general (ADG) of police (intelligence), to devise a strategy to achieve this goal government sources.
“I’m wondering when you’ll release the action plan.” Chouhan requested the ADG (Intelligence) plan and asked that it be sent to him as soon as possible.
“Whatever means and resources, skilled people, and so on are necessary, they should be mobilized,” the chief minister said, adding that the intelligence system must be improved. The conference, which took place in Mantralaya, assessed the state’s law and order situation. The recent incident in Khargone, for example, is said to have been caused, in part, by a lapse in intelligence.
