Apple’s iPhone 14 Pro models are expected to be the most significant change, as they’re said to feature under-display Face ID and remove the notch for a punch-hole front camera. They might also feature a USB-C connection. But the standard iPhone 14 range might undergo a considerable shakeup, too, as the small is believed to be cancelled in favour of a new 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Max.
iPhone 14 Release Date
The iPhone 14 release date has yet to be announced by Apple, and people are waiting for its launch date. It’s pretty likely, though, that we’ll see the iPhone 14 in September 2023 because Apple generally releases new iPhones at the same time every year. In 2022, the iPhone 13 came on Tuesday, 14th September. The iPhone 14 might be released on Tuesday 6th or 13th September 2023, as Apple is prone to releasing products on the first or second Tuesday of September.
In addition to its California headquarters, Apple hosts most of its events from its Apple Park HQ around 10 am Pacific Time, 6 pm GMT, / 4 am AEST. Apple held its first event of 2023 in March, but there are no hints of the iPhone 14. A new iPad Air and iPhone SE 3 were revealed instead, much to the delight of gadget enthusiasts.
iPhone 14 Possible Features
We can nearly be assured of one thing: the iPhone 14 series will have a new processor, which will most likely be named the A16 or the A16 Bionic. Apple’s Ross Young claims that this would be manufactured using a 4nm technology, indicating that it might be a decent upgrade above the 5nm A15 Bionic seen in the iPhone 13 series. The technique might be scaled down to 3nm or even below. As a result, we’ve heard more recently that a 5nm technology may be employed once again, as TSMC (the firm manufacturing the chipset) reportedly has difficulties switching to a 3nm (or 4nm) process.

The company is reportedly adding 6GB of RAM to every model, improving the lower-end phones but not increasing the performance of the higher-end Pro phones. We’re hearing rumblings that the iPhone 14 Pro will double that capacity again – from 512MB to 2TB – when it launches later this fall.
Design and Sizes
The iPhone 14 is expected to have the same flat-edged design as the iPhone 13. Still, in addition to adjustments to the display, there will be changes to the overall body design. According to leaked information from Jon Prosser, Apple will debut a thicker chassis with no bump for the back camera. The lenses, LED flash, and LiDAR scanner will purportedly be flush with the back glass to avoid a protruding camera design. Apple’s iPhone’s early days are reflected in the design.
In addition to a flush camera, the iPhone 14 models are also expected to have round volume buttons, similar to those found on Apple’s iPhone 4 and iPhone 5 models, and mesh cutouts instead of individual holes for the speaker and microphone. It is expected that the display bezel size will remain the same.
In 2023, there will be no 5.4-inch iPhone since Apple is discontinuing the “mini” brand of phones due to poor sales of the smaller devices. The iPhone 13 small will be the last of Apple’s tiny phones, and the company is likely to shift its attention to larger-sized iPhones in the future. There will be various iPhone 14 models, including the larger 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Pro Max replacing the 6.1-inch iPhone 14 Pro.
