BGMI Banned in India
PRAHAR, a non-profit organization, has advocated for a ban on the PUBG/BGMI app, citing national security concerns. “In the interest of India’s sovereignty and integrity… and to prevent millions of unsuspecting players from falling victim to the Chinese trap”, the NGO wrote to the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeiTY), asking for the app to be banned under Section 69A of the Information Technology Act.
PRAHAR is a non-profit organization headquartered in Assam that strives to offer elementary education to rural and tea-tribal children and families. As of right now, it is unclear why the organization is citing a ban on PUBG/BGMI, mainly because the game has made a return and has said that it is now complying with all of the standards put out by the Government of India, according to a report by the various sources.
PUBG Banned News
Even though some call for the game to be banned, the figures are still not a cause for concern. Fans will be relieved to know that neither the Indian government nor the game’s creator has suggested that Battlegrounds Mobile India would be banned shortly, at least for the time being.
Anil Stevenson Jangam, a lawyer who filed a petition in the Telangana High Court to stop BGMI’s operations, also received a stern response from MEITY.
Based on current indications, there is little chance of PUBG/BGMI being banned in India since the game probably complies with the country’s digital rules, and user data is reportedly stored in data centers.
Is PUBG going to be banned?
Krafton is dedicated to the advancement of the world-renowned Battle Royale series at all times. Indian gamers are the only ones who can play BGMI, a mobile game that was developed just for them. Hackers are causing a significant issue for gamers in the game, causing a negative gameplay experience. Krafton added a device ban function to Battlegrounds Mobile India earlier this month to prevent hackers from entering the game. This feature will prohibit users who have been banned from using a device from playing games on that device in the future.
Although Fortnite and Battle Royale are now prohibited in India, various options provide battle royale-style gameplay, such as COD: Mobile. The fact is that despite the availability of alternatives, there are a few gamers who have been playing PUBG for years and would not want to see all of their in-game progress erased.
It should be noted that there is also the next-generation game from Krafton — PUBG: New State — which has much better visuals and provides a more significant number of features when compared to BGMI. PUBG: New State, on the other hand, is a graphics-intensive game that demands a capable smartphone to play smoothly, as opposed to BGMI, which can be played on even the most basic of devices.
Krafton and PUBG India have appointed Hyunil Sohn to represent and defend the firm in any legal actions brought by or against the company in India. Why is Krafton, the so-called publisher of ‘BGMI,’ authorizing Hyunil Sohn of PUBG India to represent the firm if PUBG and the BMI are two completely separate entities? In a letter to MeiTY, PRAHAR expressed his thoughts.
“Is Hyunil Sohn a spokesperson of the PUBG or the BGMI, or is he representing both? In truth, he is a representative of the Chinese technology corporation Tencent in the country, “It was said. “Furthermore, according to the information available with the MCA, there is no such entity as Krafton India. According to the MCA records, the only Krafton in India is a paper production firm with no connection to the South Korean corporation Krafton.” According to PRAHAR, “Krafton is nothing more than a puppet controlled by Tencent, with all levers controlled by Tencent.”
