All of suburban Mumbai and Thane, including Kalyan and Dombivli, was reported to have been affected. Users of Jio’s mobile services on Twitter reported an inability to make cell phone calls. Non-Jio customers also reported having difficulty patching calls with Jio customers.
Airtel network Outage
Reliance Jio experienced a similar outage earlier this month when a one-hour-long outage hit all Jio users in Mumbai. According to reports, in addition to suburban Mumbai, Kalyan and Dombivli in Thane were also affected by the strike. Several Jio users on Twitter have reported that their Jio numbers cannot make mobile calls. Furthermore, non-Jio numbers were also reportedly unable to patch a Jio number call. The outage occurred days after Jio’s competitor Airtel had a similar outage in certain parts of Mumbai. As evidenced by the Downdetector outage map, the Airtel outage seems to be of a much larger scale.
